Youth Spring Soccer Season for ages 2-14

Fort Jackson Memorial Bataan Death March

Fort Jackson Memorial Bataan Death March, 6 a.m. Hilton Field Softball Complex.  This memorial march is conducted to honor the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II. There will be two routes available for participant from which to choose – the full route, 26.2 miles and the honorary route, 14.2 miles. Men will march with a 30-pound rucksack and women with a 25-pound rucksack. Rucksacks will be weighed beginning at 5 a.m.

-The first 25 registrants will get a free t-shirt.

-Each finisher will be awarded a commemorative item.

Water Aerobics

Water group exercise designed for Special population uses modified moves for individuals who may have limitations such as: hip replacement, poor circulation, pregnant, etc.  Since these classes are slower, they are also great for Seniors. (Special populations, seniors)

Curiously Charming Book Club

We will read Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. This nonfiction book tells the true story of the Black female mathematicians who worked at NASA's Langley Aeronautical Laboratory in Hampton, Virginia, starting in the early 1940s. These pioneering women known as “human computers” used pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets and astronauts into space, even as Jim Crow laws forced them to be segregated from their white counterparts. March is Women’s history month, and to celebrate and commemorate, we will discuss this book.

Spring Family Camp Out

Outdoor Recreation is hosting our Spring Family Campout at Twin Lakes Park. This family friendly overnight primitive camping event will have fun activities such as games, fishing, s’mores making and more. We will provide hot dogs and chips for dinner and coffee and individually wrapped pastries for breakfast the next morning. Come join us by the bonfire and enjoy the great outdoors! Sign up at Marion Street Station today! You don’t need to have your own equipment, rent from us! Supplies are limited; please check with Marion Street Station for equipment availability.
