Solomon Center

The Solomon Center opened in 1997. It is a one-of-a-kind facility located on Strom Thurmond Boulevard. The Solomon Center is home to various facilities like CYS Hourly Care, Outdoor Recreation, Andy's Gym and Fitness Classes, MWR Concierge, and Marketing and Commerical Sponsorship. 

The Special Events area boasts a spacious 2,800-person seating capacity where ceremonies, concerts, sporting events and special events. Other events include Community Awareness Day, Retiree Appreciation Day, Basic Training Graduation Family Days, Wedding Receptions and Ethnic Functions. 

CYS On-Site Hourly Care

Kids On-Site hourly care is now available at the Solomon Center.

  • Child must be registered first. 
  • Walk-Ins are welcome on space available basis
  • Parents must remain on site while using Solomon Center facilities
  • Cost is 8.00 an hour/child. Three-hour time limit.

Outdoor Recreation

Looking to do some outdoor activities like, kayaking, canoeing, or boating? Outdoor Recreation at the Solomon Center can meet most of your needs.  We have party supplies for graduations, cookouts, or family gatherings, such as tables, chairs, canopies, coolers, propane gas grills and charcoal grills.

Andy's Gym

Hours: Monday- Friday: 4am-8pm

Saturday: 8am-5pm

Sunday: 1-6pm

Andy's Gym is open to ages 16 and older.  ID card holders are allowed one guest.

Please observe the following rules when visiting the gyms and fitness center.

  1. 100% ID Check.
  2. Sanitize equipment after each use.
  3. Showers and saunas are open.

You must be an eligible ID card holder or guest (one per ID card holder) to utilize any of the fitness centers or gymnasiums on Fort Jackson. Eligible ID card holders are one of the following: Active-Duty military, Retired military, Reserve military, DA Civilian employees, including NAF Civilian employees, Army contract employees and age-appropriate Family members.

All Fort Jackson Family and MWR users are requested to fill out a “Family and MWR Application.” All the Family and MWR Community Recreation Division (CRD) Activities such as Gymnasiums, Pools, Outdoor Recreation facilities, Libraries, Miniature Golf, and Victory Travel are set up with computerized swipers to count your visit. These swipers will capture the mandatory data for annual reports and justify the appropriate funding needed to run the facilities and/or activities.

Fitness Classes

The mission of our Fitness and Wellness Department programming is to offer many different exercise modalities to help you find the one or more that suits you best. We change our class offerings quarterly – check back to see what else we might be offering.

The Fitness Department steps in and offers a variety of fitness classes throughout the day on land and in the water using certified fitness instructors.

  • Yoga, aerobics, water fitness, trail ride line dance workout are some of the classes currently being offered.

  •  Special events, includes themed 5k run/walks, zumbathons, aerobathons and more are promoted throughout the year to keep you engaged and excited about fitness.

  • We offer lectures and menu planning to help you with developing and reaching your nutritional goals.

Child & Youth Services provides the Fort Jackson Community with quality child development options and youth programs which can help reduce the conflict between parenting responsibilities and duty requirements, enhance the development of children and youth, engage youth in constructive activities during their discretionary time.

MWR Marketing

Patriots Park

Patriots Park located in front of the Solomon Center offers gazebos and picnic tables, and the Fort Jackson Recreation Trail which winds its way through the park, around the Solomon Center and follows a five-mile loop through Fort Jackson connecting the South Carolina Palmetto Trail.

Additional future plans provide for the Solomon Center to offer the community additional programs such as flea markets and craft shows.
