Fort Jackson Unit Funds
Unit funds must be used for the collective benefit of all unit members for off duty recreational purposes. Family members (and guests) may participate in organizational events at the discretion of the unit members.
UNIT FUND (NAF) support is intended to provide funds for off-duty recreation purposes for the collective benefit of all unit members.
a. All unit members must have the opportunity to participate in the activity supported with unit funds.
b. No individual or group of individuals will receive unit funding that is not available to all members of the unit.
The Battalion Commander or a designee appointed by the BN Commander will serve as the Unit Fund Manager/Custodian.
a. Delegation of authority to approve purchase requests, receive merchandise, or pick up petty cash funds must be in writing (DA Form 1687). An updated DA Form 1687 is required when the current copy expires or any appointed custodian leaves the activity or a changes in responsibility occurs.
b. Only one Unit Fund Manager/Custodian and Alternate per Battalion is authorized.
General Uses: Organizational Days, Food and Beverage, Pavilion or equipment rental, bowling events, etc. These funds must be spent for the MORALE-WELFARE-RECREATION of the active duty soldier for off duty entertainment.
PROHIBITED USES: The purchase of Mission Supplies, Facility Maintenance Supplies, personalized or personal type gifts/presentations, Protocol events, Purchase of gifts/supplies for children or spouses, Raffles, and purchases in which an individual earns rewards or perks on a personal account. NO GIFT CARDS may be purchased.
Isolated Unit Funds & Annual Training
Ft. Jackson is the coordinating garrison for Isolated Unit Funds and Annual Training for South Carolina.
NAF UNIT FUNDS WILL NOT BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE THAT CANNOT WITHSTAND THE TEST OF PUBLIC SCRUTINY OR WHICH COULD BE DEEMED A MISUSE OR WASTE OF SOLDIER’S DOLLARS.
